MLS Aces Week 29 Team of the Week
Hey! This week’s team of the week didn’t come out three days late this week! Look at me! Week 29 saw a lot of stellar performances from defenders, keepers, and forwards. The midfielders were lacking this week so my choices were slim but let’s go through my quick little break down here. Vito Mannone once again was the Italian Stallion leading the way for the Loons. 12 saves and a shutout for Mannone lead the way for a big draw against the Timbers. Defensively Miles Robinson shut things down for Atlanta. He was able to step up huge and over the course of two games was the team’s best player. He and the Atlanta defense only allowed 1 goal in total and Robinson continues to grow as one of the league’s best. Seeing great performances from Walker Zimmerman, Michael Boxall, and Matt Hedges at this point are common occurrences and seeing their names on my list is no surprise. In the midfield I was mainly impressed by Daniel Royer who has stepped up huge for the Red Bulls as of late. Royer as really been a leader on the field for them and kept them in a spot to make the playoffs, even through poor team performances. Up top it has to be two of the BADDEST goal scorers this league has ever seen. Zlatan continues to Zlatan and even through an injury Josef played out of his mind, I wish him the best of luck in his recovery.
