NYCFC Sign Kevin O'Toole To Contract Extension
New York City FC have signed leftback Kevin O’Toole to a contract extension through the 2025 MLS season with an option for the 2026 season. The 25 year old wingback was drafted by NYCFC 34th overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. O’Toole quickly impressed for the Cityzens and NYCFC II making 10 appearances in MLS Next Pro during his rookie season. He would make his NYCFC first team debut in the U.S. Open Cup when NYCFC played against MLS Next Pro side Rochester New York FC. After more games played for NYCFC II, O’Toole would finally get his first team run after starting and winning against Atlas FC, raising the Campeones Cup. He would then be given the starting leftback job for the final six games of the season, ranging from the MLS regular season to MLS Cup Playoffs. In his second season (2023 MLS season), O’Toole would see more minutes and action finishing with roughly 1,300 minutes across 23 games played.
Kevin O’Toole, at least right now, is slated to be the starting leftback for NYCFC in 2024. The only other leftback on the roster is 16 year old Christian McFarlane who has not yet made his first team debut. Personally, I am a NYCFC fan and if we can see another year of “KOT” progressing in his career than I would be excited!!! Give me more of the Princeton kid in New York!
