Colorado Rapids Sign HomeGrown Midfielder Sam Bassett

The Colorado Rapids have signed central midfielder Sam Bassett to a HomeGrown contract out of the University of Denver. The 21 year old Bassett played four seasons at Denver and in 2024 was named a MAC Hermann  Trophy finalist which is an honor given to the top player in NCAA soccer. Bassett is the brother to current Colorado Rapids U22 Initiative midfielder Cole Bassett. During his four seasons at the University of Denver, he finished with 50 goal contributions in about 4,900 minutes played.
