MLSAces Week 4 - Team of the Week

MLSAces Week 4 - Team of the Week

I have to start off this Team of the Week piece by letting you all know that I was in Mexico for week 4, so it has been a lot of  catching up on games, highlights, and reading into other pieces out there on the MLS-internet. But anyway… it was a fun week! Cascadia Cup, El Trafico, and some American youngsters got their names on the scoresheet! Let’s check  out who I picked as  the best from MLS week 4:

GK: Brad Guzan - Atlanta United

DEF: Kyle Duncan - New York Red Bulls
DEF: Derrick Williams - LA Galaxy
DEF: Danny Wilson - Colorado Rapids
DEF: Julian Araujo - LA Galaxy
MID: Emmanuel  Reynoso - Minnesota United
MID: Caden Clark - New York Red Bulls
MID: Joao Paulo - Seattle Sounders
MID: Cristian Casseres Jr. - New York Red Bulls
FWD: Chris Wondolowski - San Jose Earthquakes
FWD: Cristian Dajome - Vancouver Whitecaps

Bench:

GK: Joe Willis - Nashville SC
DEF: Walker Zimmerman - Nashville SC
DEF: Aaron Long - New York Red Bulls
MID: Latif Blessing - LAFC
MID: Gregore - Inter Miami
FWD: Fabio - New York Red Bulls
FWD: Chicharito - LA Galaxy

I have to start with the obvious here… CHRISTOPHER ELLIOTT WONDOLOWSKI!!! Wondo did his thing and bagged himself a game winning brace for the  Quakes in a 2-1 victory over RSL on Friday. Pairing up top with him in my squad here is another “brace man” himself in the Caps’ Cristian Dajome who was the only goal scorer in the Canadian clash. The rest of the team has a ton of representatives from the Red Bulls and Galaxy as they both won in convincing fashion this week. Let’s start with the Red Bulls. Caden Clark of course showed up once again as he scored and recorded a “MLS assist” on Frankie Amaya’s goal. His midfield teammate in Cristian Casseres Jr. had 7 tackles running  around that midfield and holding things up for a shutout victory over the weekend. Also helping out with a shutout win was Kyle Duncan who had 3 tackles himself. For the Galaxy we saw some  major defensive performers as well in Derrick Williams (who made his 2nd appearance for the club) who was able to record an assist as well as 3 tackles vs LAFC. Then Julian Araujo came up with a big 6 tackle performance as well in this one. Rounding out this team this week is Joao Paulo, Emmanuel Reynoso, Danny Wilson, and Brad Guzan. Paulo and Guzan were probably the men of the match in their respective games.

Who do you agree with? Who did I miss? Let me know! I can already smell week 2 around the corner!
