First and foremost, I have to start with the player that is easily the player of the week: LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond. “Bond-y” was a goalkeeper on a mission against in-state rival San Jose Earthquakes, coming up with 12 saves to keep a clean sheet and preserve the win. Not many ‘keepers around MLS have the ability to get their team a result on their own, but Bond proved he is one of them this week. We had several goal scorers on the backline this week, but Keegan Rosenberry and Jack Elliott managed to both get on the score sheet and help their teams secure shutouts. Additionally, Aaron Herrera recorded an assist while maintaining a solid defensive performance as well.

In the midfield, I want to highlight Matt Polster. He did not score, he did record an assist, but this man broke up EVERYTHING against FC Cincinnati. Polster finished the day with 7 tackles, as New England narrowly beat Cincy 1-0. Paul Arriola put up his best performance this season, after returning from injury he incurred while on loan with Swansea City - the U.S. international recorded a goal and an assist as DC United trounced Inter-Miami. The same stat line popped up for Gianluca Busio and Jesus Medina, as they helped lead their teams to victories in very close games.

Up top, I paid homage to a #TBT player in Ola Kamara, who bagged a brace for D.C. Is there some light at the end of the tunnel for DC fans? Is Ola finally figuring out Losada’s system? Hopefully. Lastly, I had to include Kacper Przybylko - he led the way for the Union, as DOOP nation beat up on the Timbers this week.

Who do you agree with? Who did I miss? Let me know! Week 8 is almost here!!!
