Austin FC Sign Goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland Via Free Agency

Austin FC sign free agent goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland ahead of the 2024 MLS season. The 29 year old shot stopper joins Austin after serving as the backup in Seattle for the last few years. Cleveland has played at almost every level within U.S. soccer, playing for; Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire, FC Tulsa, Tacoma Defiance, and Lansing Ignite FC. While with Seattle, Cleveland won the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League title. 

I don’t expect this to be a signing that is much other than Austin securing their backup goalkeeper for 2024. Cleveland is a very good talent and if needed, he should be totally fine serving as the fill-in for Brad Stuver. But Stuver should be the starting keeper for Austin next year.
