MLS Aces Power Rankings - Post Matchday 34

Matchday 34 of the 2024 MLS season is in the books and with that the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs are only getting closer and closer. What does that mean? That means that every single game and every single week means more and more to the U.S. soccer world. This past weekend we saw potential playoff matchups, potential MLS Cup matchups, and some stellar soccer. Orlando City, New York City FC, New York Red Bulls, Seattle Sounders, Houston Dynamo, and the Vancouver Whitecaps have all secured their spots in the playoffs this past matchday as well. We are getting some clubs who are clearly putting themselves in the “contender” category in their respective conference (shoutout to the Seattle Sounders being win over Houston). But how does this all effect the MLS Aces Power rankings? To be fully honest, not much in terms of the top 10… but here is where things stand to me when in comes to MLS club power rankings:

1. Columbus Crew SC

2. Los Angeles Galaxy

3. Inter Miami CF

4. Los Angeles FC

5. FC Cincinnati

6. Seattle Sounders

7. Colorado Rapids

8. Vancouver Whitecaps

9. Houston Dynamo

10. Orlando City SC

As mentioned above, the Sounders had a huge victory in their 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo, both who as you can see I rate very highly in the Western Conference. And in continuing with the Western Conference, the drastically opposite results of LAFC and the Rapids still see them both moving in opposite directions in this Top 10. Shoutout to the Whitecaps who won the Canadian Championship this past week and are slowly getting into the top of the West conversation. In the East, it’s nothing shocking here in terms of Columbus, Miami, and Cincinnati being within the Top 5. However, credit to Orlando who cracked the Top 10 and have been playing some fun soccer as of late with Facundo Torres. Outside of that Top 10, here is how clubs 11 through 29 look like in my eyes:
